The cases in South Africa seem to have peaked just shy of 20,000 and are starting to fall. Keep in mind that these are CASES, not DEATHS! Remember, no one ever said that we would have ZERO cases. This was about lowering the deaths. And despite the much-hyped and highly mutated Omicron, the deaths are not following the cases.
Currently, they are averaging around 20 deaths a day in the whole country, despite having over 19,000 cases per day of Omicron. Symptoms still seem to be mild and all are being treated at home with no hospitalizations and very few deaths.
